Ryan Hartman

Ryan explores what it means to truly abide in Christ through the lens of the passage. John 15:1-11. He challenged us to reconsider our role in the Kingdom of God—we are not called to generate fruit through our own efforts, but simply to abide in Christ and bear what He produces through us. The word 'bear' is intentional; we don't create, manifest, or restore on our own power. Like branches that merely hold fruit generated by nutrients flowing from the vine, our job is attachment, not production. This truth frees us from the exhausting burden of trying to be the vine. When we seek first the Kingdom of God rather than chasing results, the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness naturally follows. When we stop trying to nail ourselves to the cross alone and allow our community to help us die to ourselves daily, we discover what Jesus truly wants for us: His joy made full in our lives. This isn't about religious duty; it's about a God who examined every hidden part of us and still chose to stay.
