The Ways of Jesus-Compassion
What if the greatest battle we face is not against our circumstances, but against the lies we believe about who we are?
In this message, Robert takes us into the heart of identity, truth, and the freedom that comes when we stop trying to earn what God has already given us.
Looking at Matthew 4:1–11, Robert shares how Jesus was tested in the wilderness and how the enemy’s very first attack was against His identity. Before Jesus ever preached a sermon or performed a miracle, God had already declared that He was His dearly loved Son who brought Him great joy. Yet the enemy immediately challenged that truth with the word “if.”
We face that same battle every day. So much of our striving, anxiety, and restlessness can come from trying to prove something God has already declared true about us. Robert challenges us to consider whether we are living from the done of grace or the do of performance.
What would change if we truly believed we are dearly loved sons and daughters of God who bring Him great joy?
When that truth moves from our heads to our hearts, it changes how we see ourselves, how we live, and how we love the people around us. There is freedom in knowing we don’t have to prove who we are—we can simply live from the love we have already received.
