Love in Action Week 1

Jesus meets us where we are, but He loves us too much to leave us there.

Following Jesus was never meant to be comfortable. It's an invitation to live with our eyes open, open hands, and an open heart. Every day, God gives us opportunities to look beyond ourselves, love others well, and make a difference.

Proverbs 11:25 says, "The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed." The more we pour into others, the more God refreshes and grows us.

In Acts 8, Philip shows us what can happen when we simply say "yes" to God. He didn't have a detailed plan—he just followed the Holy Spirit's leading. Along the way, he met an Ethiopian official searching for truth. One conversation. One act of obedience. One divine appointment. God used that moment to change a life and expand His kingdom.

The same is true for us today.

God is already at work in the lives of the people around us, our neighbors, coworkers, classmates, the cashier at the grocery store, the person sitting next to us on a plane, or a stranger waiting in line at a coffee shop. Every day is filled with opportunities to show the love of Jesus.

It might be a kind word, an encouraging text, buying someone a coffee, offering to pray, inviting a friend to church or an Equip group, or simply taking time to listen to someone who needs to be heard. What feels small to us can become life-changing to someone else.

When we choose compassion over convenience and obedience over comfort, God changes us too. We begin to look and act more like Jesus. We discover that the greatest joy isn't found in living for ourselves; it's found in giving ourselves away.

Your Challenge

For the next 30 days, intentionally do at least one act of kindness every day. Ask God each morning, "Who can I encourage, serve, or bless today?" Then be ready to say yes.

You never know how one simple act of kindness could become someone's divine appointment.
